Abstract
Viruses represent a microscopic version of the Trojan horse by mimicking processes known to the cell to get inside and infect it. Endocytosis is one of these processes that viruses take advantage of to be internalized. In this review, the distinct endocytic pathways known to date are discussed. In addition, a brief overview of the entry of different viruses known to use each of these routes is provided.TIP Magazine Specialized in Chemical-Biological Sciences, distributed under Creative Commons License: Attribution + Noncommercial + NoDerivatives 4.0 International.
