Resumen

Las nanopartículas (NPs) son partículas con un rango de tamaño de 1 a 100 nm. Entre, las más utilizadas están las de cobre (Cu) por disponibles y económicas en comparación con las de plata y oro. Los procesos para obtenerlas pueden ser físicos, químicos y biológicos. Estos últimos considerados los más viables por no generar residuos tóxicos secundarios, ni altos costos de producción. En la síntesis de NPs por medio biológico, el usar extractos vegetales o síntesis verde las hace más simples, rentables, confiables y amigables con el ambiente. Actualmente, se conocen pocos estudios sobre fitotoxicidad, el efecto y la acción en insectos fitófagos. Por lo tanto, la presente revisión se centra en su aplicación para la protección de cultivos de relevancia agroalimentaria, describir los tipos de sales metálicas de Cu empleadas, los extractos vegetales usados, y su posible mecanismo de acción.
